Traveling to Japan via Book

I first read Memoirs of a Geisha several years ago, and I can't wait to read it again. It provides an intimate look into the world of the geisha house, of relationships among women, between men and women and the role of geishas in Japanese culutre.

Join us for the discussion of Memoirs of a Geisha on January 9 after school in the library.

I started reading this book and I got hooked. I finished it in 3 days! It was a great story.

woo hoo. I finished this book. I'm not much for war books, but I liked this one. The stories it in always sounded like something that could have happened in the war, but then I had to remind myself that it was labeled as a work of fiction. Some of the stories really made me cringe like the puppy and the buffalo. Others were sort of up lifting. The men in the company all learned to reply on each and became family. Remind me a tad of Band of Brothers in that sense.
